Frequently Asked Questions
do i need to bring a partner for the acro specialties?
For duo acro - yes, you must bring a partner. We may be able to match some singles together, but this isn’t guaranteed and can be difficult to organise. If you do not have a partner to work with, you can join group acro. This will involve some duo skills, but mostly focused on training group acro (banquine, 3-highs, tarzans ect…)
WHat skill level do i need to be to attend?
The course is available for participants of all skill levels, however the course load can be intense physically so we do recommend having some level of fitness prior to starting. Our trainers are very experienced and will be able to help you in your chosen circus specialties, no matter where your skill level lies.
what is the student to teacher ratio?
Spin Course aims to keep the teacher to student ratio as small as possible, making sure you get as much focused time as possible. For duo acro, we have roughly a 1:2 ratio of coach to student.
is food and accomodation provided?
No, you will need to find your own accomodation and food. We will have a social media group available closer to the course start date to help connect people looking for accomodation.
As fringe season is very busy in Adelaide, we recommend looking for accomodation sooner rather than later.
how long are the training days?
Training usually starts at 9:30am and ends at 3:30pm, with a break for lunch around 1pm. These times may be subject to change.
Can i keep training after class?
This will be dependant on our venue Circobats and if the space is available. But don’t be surprised if you end up too exhausted to train more after the day finishes - you’ll be doing about 5 hours of acro every day!
any other tips for the course?
Prioritse your rest, food and sleep. Between training at the course, socialising at fringe and trying to squeeze everything Adelaide has to offer into 24 hours - burnout and exhaustion is very real! Make sure you prioritise eating well (and consistently), getting some decent sleep and taking time to yourself.
Can i volunteer or work at spin training course?
Unfortunately, Spin training course does not offer any volunteer or paid work. However, if you are looking for work during the course, Adelaide Fringe has many positions available across the month.
can i attend or perform at fringe?
Absolutely. While Spin Circus will not be providing performance opportunities you are more than welcome to attend Fringe and seek performing opportunities.
how does the payment plan work?
If you would like a payment plan please email spincircustraining@gmail.com.
An initial deposit of $500 (25% of the course fee) will be required to secure your position with the remaining amount to be paid off by the 7th February.
